How I Overcame Anxiety

How Hypnotherapy Can Help You Achieve Mental Health and Success?

Do you ever feel anxious, stressed, insecure, or inadequate? Do you doubt your abilities and achievements, or fear that others will expose you as a fraud? Do you feel like you are not living up to your full potential in your personal and professional life?

If so, you are not alone. Many people struggle with issues such as these, and left unaddressed, they can have a seriously detrimental affect on mental health and success as well as having a negative impact upon relationships, health, and happiness.

But what if I told you that there is a way to overcome these issues and achieve mental health and success? What if I told you that there is a way to change your mindset and behaviour, and achieve your goals? And what if I told you that this way is hypnotherapy?

In this blog post, I will share with you how hypnotherapy can help you with anxiety, stress, self-esteem, self-confidence and the imposter syndrome. I will also share with you my personal story of how I retrained as a hypnotherapist after resolving my own issues using hypnotherapy. And I will tell you how you can get started with hypnotherapy today, no matter where you are in the world.

What is Hypnotherapy and How Does It Work?

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that uses hypnosis to access your unconscious mind. Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation and focused attention, in which you are more open to positive suggestions and new perspectives.

Your unconscious mind is the part of your mind that stores your memories, emotions, beliefs, and habits. It influences your conscious mind and behaviour, often without your awareness. Sometimes, your unconscious mind can hold negative or limiting beliefs that prevent you from reaching your full potential. For example, you may have learned to associate certain situations or people with fear or anxiety. Or you may have internalized messages from others that make you feel unworthy or incompetent.

Hypnotherapy can help you identify and reframe these beliefs, and replace them with more positive and empowering ones. Hypnotherapy can also help you create new associations and responses that support your goals. For example, you may learn to associate public speaking with confidence and excitement instead of nervousness and dread. Or you may learn to appreciate your achievements and value yourself instead of comparing yourself to others and feeling inadequate.

Hypnotherapy can also help you enhance your strengths and resources, and develop new skills and habits. For example, you may learn relaxation techniques, coping skills, positive thinking strategies, time management skills, communication skills, etc.

Hypnotherapy works by using various techniques to guide you into a hypnotic state. These techniques may include relaxation exercises, imagery, metaphors, stories, affirmations and direct suggestions. Once you are in a hypnotic state, myself, as your hypnotherapist will communicate with your unconscious mind and help you achieve your desired outcomes.

You are always in control during hypnosis, and you can choose to accept or reject any suggestion. You will not do anything that goes against your values or morals. You will not reveal any secrets or personal information that you do not want to share. You will not lose consciousness or awareness of your surroundings. You will remember everything that happens during the session.

How Can Hypnotherapy Help You with Anxiety, Stress, Self-Esteem, Self-Confidence and Imposter Syndrome?

Hypnotherapy can help you with various issues related to anxiety, stress, self-esteem, self-confidence and imposter syndrome. Here are some examples of how hypnotherapy can help you:

- Anxiety: Hypnotherapy can help you reduce your anxiety levels by teaching you relaxation techniques, coping skills and positive thinking strategies. It can also help you address the underlying causes of your anxiety, such as past traumas or negative experiences. Hypnotherapy can help you overcome specific fears or phobias that trigger your anxiety.

- Stress: Hypnotherapy can help you manage your stress by helping you identify and eliminate the sources of stress in your life. It can also help you develop healthy habits such as exercise, meditation and sleep that can reduce your stress levels. Hypnotherapy can also help you improve your time management and problem-solving skills that can help you cope with stressful situations.

- Self-esteem: Hypnotherapy can help you boost your self-esteem by helping you recognize and appreciate your qualities, talents and achievements. It can also help you challenge and change any negative or distorted self-image that may affect your self-esteem. Hypnotherapy can also help you set realistic and attainable goals that can enhance your self-esteem.

- Self-confidence: Hypnotherapy can help you increase your self-confidence by helping you develop a positive attitude towards yourself and your abilities. It can also help you overcome any doubts or fears that may hold you back from pursuing your dreams or taking risks. Hypnotherapy can also help you improve your communication and social skills that can boost your self-confidence.

- Imposter syndrome: Hypnotherapy can help you overcome imposter syndrome by helping you acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments and contributions. It can also help you stop comparing yourself to others or seeking external validation for your worth. Hypnotherapy can also help you embrace your uniqueness and authenticity as a source of strength.

My Story of Retraining as a Hypnotherapist

As I mentioned earlier, I retrained as a hypnotherapist after resolving my own issues with hypnotherapy. I was a senior IT procurement consultant for over 20 years, working in the private and public sectors for organisations across the globe. The roles I undertook were always those with a significant degree of pressure. I was often in charge of teams of people, managing them through business transformation, often in boardroom meetings with other senior board members, reporting on progress and planning the next steps, often working long, long hours, and usually having to commute long distances for various clients or staying away from home if the commute was too great. After a long time trying my wife became pregnant with twin girls, unfortunately after an extremely difficult pregnancy she gave birth very prematurely and we sadly lost one of our precious daughters after a few hours, a devastating blow for anyone to suffer. Our surviving daughter was kept in intensive care for 15 weeks until she was strong enough to leave hospital.

To our surprise my wife became pregnant again some time later and, although the pregnancy did have issues, she gave birth to our son. Six months after his birth he became ill and ended up in hospital where they diagnosed a very rare and life threatening immune condition which meant he had to be kept away from any kind of infection which meant he could not mix with other people, particularly children. His condition became more complex as time went by and ultimately he had to have a bone marrow transplant. This took place over a three month period within a highly sterile environment at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. After he came home we had to monitor his condition daily and made frequent visits to the hospital for tests. Let me just say having to hold your 22 month old baby still whilst a nurse/doctor tries to hit a tiny vein with a very small needle in order to take blood is not a pleasant experience - and we had to do this often. I was always determined to be stoical during the whole thing as I needed to be strong for my wife and family but it was during this time when I returned home after a long, long commute to find my wife in tears as his blood numbers had crashed again that I involuntary hit the wall and folded. All the pressure of being strong at work and at home just overwhelmed me and it was then I knew I was in trouble and needed help.

At that time my wife was undertaking counseling which worked for her but somehow I could not see myself doing the same so I reached out to a local Hypnotherapist. I had never had anything like hypnotherapy and was, I must admit, somewhat skeptical at first. However, I was so impressed by the results that I decided to learn more about this amazing tool and how to use it to help others.

I enrolled in a reputable hypnotherapy course and studied full-time for 18 months. The course taught me the theory and practice of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. I learned from experienced and qualified instructors who guided me through the process of becoming a competent and confident hypnotherapist.

I also gained hands-on experience by working with real clients who had various issues and goals. I applied the techniques and skills that I learned in the course to help them achieve positive outcomes. I received feedback and supervision from my instructors and peers who helped me improve my skills.

I graduated from the course with a certificate in hypnotherapy that recognized my knowledge and competence in this field. I also joined a professional association that provided me with ongoing support, training, and ethical standards.

Working within my own hypnotherapy practice, ReframeLife  Mindset Coaching and Hypnotherapy I offer online sessions to English speaking people anywhere in the world. I specialize in anxiety, stress, self-esteem, self-confidence and imposter syndrome, as these are the issues that I have personally overcome and have a passion for helping others with.

I really love what I do, and I am proud of the results that I have achieved with my clients. I have seen them transform their own minds and their lives with hypnotherapy. I have seen them become more calm, confident, and capable. I have seen them achieve their goals and dreams and have many 5 star reviews from my client base.

How Can You Get Started with Hypnotherapy Today?

If you are interested in trying hypnotherapy, you may be wondering how to get started. The first step is to find a qualified and experienced hypnotherapist who can help you with your specific issues and goals. You can search online for hypnotherapists in your area, or ask for recommendations from friends or family who have tried hypnotherapy.

The next step is to contact the hypnotherapist and schedule a consultation. During the consultation, you can discuss your issues and goals, and ask any questions you may have about hypnotherapy. The hypnotherapist will also explain the process and what to expect from the sessions. You can also establish rapport and trust with the hypnotherapist, which is essential for a successful outcome.

The final step is to attend the sessions and follow the instructions of the hypnotherapist. The number and frequency of sessions may vary depending on your needs and progress. Typically, a session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes, and you may need several sessions to achieve your goals. During the sessions, you will be guided into a hypnotic state and receive suggestions and interventions that are tailored to your situation. You may also receive homework assignments or recordings to reinforce the changes between sessions.
